Description
A successful candidate will support our research focusing on performing single-cell and bulk transcriptome analysis assays, and in vitro cell culture assays for identifying immunoregulatory pathways and biomarkers in response to therapy and/or disease progression.
Specific Responsibilities
- Perform routine lab duties such as preparing buffers and stocking lab supplies
- Extract RNA and prepare RNA sequencing libraries
- Maintain cell cultures and perform in vitro experiments
- Assist other members in preparing or carrying out similar experiments
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors/Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a similar field
- Experience with basic laboratory techniques
- Experience in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA isolation, library preparation, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR etc.
- Experience in cell culture, transfections, western blotting, ELISA, etc. is preferred
- Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills in managing data, strong communication skills and experience working well in a diverse group setting is preferred

Research Internship positions are currently available in Dr. Bhasin’s laboratory in the Emory School of Medicine. We are looking for exceptional, innovative researchers to join our team for the development of computational algorithms for the identification of immunogenic candidates as well as the development of a novel platform for the analysis of single-cell genomics, epigenomics and proteomics data. The candidate will have the unique opportunity to work with a team of experimental and computational biologists working in the exciting field of computational systems biology and single-cell omics in a highly interdisciplinary environment. The internship can be part of a student’s thesis project for the successful completion of a degree at their institution.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should be pursuing an MSc, MTech, MS or PhD, in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or Statistics. Research fellow/Postdoctoral positions are currently available in Dr. Bhasin’s laboratory in the Emory School of Medicine. We are looking for exceptional, innovative researchers to join our team for the development of computational algorithms for the identification of immunogenic candidates for the development of personalized vaccine candidates. The successful candidate will develop novel algorithms for the identification of immunogenic candidates and modeling the immune ecosystem based on single-cell genomics data to positively impact cancer outcomes. The candidate will have the unique opportunity to pursue excellent cutting-edge research in fast developing exciting field of computational systems biology in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD or MS in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or Statistics. The position requires a strong background in algorithms and statistics, data management/mining, and machine learning, and the candidate should have prior experience working in systems biology and its stochastic computing, integrative modeling (using strong Bayesian network, HMM, etc.) and computational aspects. Candidates with prior experience in next-generation sequencing and single-cell sequencing data analysis are preferred. Candidates should have excellent programming skills and experience in C/C++, Java, Perl, Python, and R. Highly motivated and creative candidates with excellent records of publications in peer-reviewed journals are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to have outstanding personal initiative and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Bioinformatician positions are currently available in Dr. Bhasin's laboratory in the Emory School of Medicine. Bioinformaticians will be responsible for the development and maintenance of workflows/algorithms for analysis of genomics, proteomics, next-generation sequencing, and metabolics data. They will also be responsible for developing solutions for integrated and systems biology analysis of multi-dimensional -omics data. A successful candidate must have strong technical skills while working independently on development or data analysis projects. Prior experience in handing and analysis of genome level data is extremely helpful.
Characteristic Duties

- Apply sequence analysis methods, clustering algorithms, functional and statistical analysis methods on -omics data
- Develop analytical workflows for identifying predictive biomarkers from genome level data using novel feature selection and classifier training algorithms
- Develop innovative solutions for integrated analysis multi-dimensional omics datasets including SNP Profiling, ChipSEQ, Transcriptome, Epigenome, and Proteome data
- Manage genomics, proteomics and sequencing data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and presentation
Qualifications

- BS in computer science, computer engineering, bioinformatics or related discipline (an advanced degree such as MS or PhD is a strong plus)
- Excellent programming skills and experience in C/C++, Java, Perl, Python, SAS, MATLAB, and R
